She's pretty sure there's no rule against 17 year olds getting coffee, nor showing up completely uninvited at someone's table. It might be frowned upon, but there are no rules against it, and certainly not ones she's about to enforce. It doesn't really matter that she was theoretically keeping an eye on someone; she's pretty sure they don't rank that highly on her list of priorities anyway.
So you know what? He's got her attention.
Mostly because it's hard to ignore someone who effectively just appears right in front of you mid-sip. It's definitely not the kind of thing you see every day, and that, in and of itself, is worth her attention. Her expression barely changes short of mild bemusement written in the arch of her eyebrows.
