"You could ask him. See if there's anything he wants taken out," she suggested, still liking the mental image. After all, Alex couldn't just keep himself holed up in a bomb shelter forever; sooner or later, he'd have to come out and get some practical experience. In landscaping, obviously. Earn his keep, and all that. Either that, or he could make everyone breakfast.

Her eyes remained on him even while he didn't look at her, almost as though she was trying to get inside his head a little. She couldn't help but wonder what he thought of all this: if he liked it just because he didn't have to hide away in solitary, or if he actually agreed with what they were trying to do. "Of course he's protective. I'm his sister," Raven replied, her tone only holding a tone of wryness at that fact. "We'll start with the basics. And if I like it, we'll move up from there."
