She wasn't sure who Beast was - another mutant, obviously - but it was more than a little pleasing to hear that she wasn't the only one. Three. Three mutants who were naturally blue. Just wait until Charles heard that.

"Raven," she told him proudly, chin tipping up a little. He was the first person to ever look pleased by her colouring; Erik didn't count, not when all he wanted was for her to show off her natural self. That was different. "Yours?"

"Kurt Wanger," he started, "But in the Munich Circus they call me the Incredible Nightcrawler!" he finished with a flourishing showmen's bow. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Raven."

Kurt straightened, still wearing his friendly smile. "So.. you mimic, yes? Can you do anyone?"

Strange as the circumstances were, this was just what she needed: someone new to talk to, someone who understood. "Wait, you're part of a circus? What's your act?"

It was sort of a given that she thought it was a pleasure to meet him. She barely even tried to tamp down her wide smile.

"Shape-shifting, yeah. I think I can do anyone. If I've seen them before, at least."

Kurt straightened proudly. While the Circus ringmaster had done horrible things to him, Kurt couldn't let go of where he had been and wouldn't let go of the few good memories that he had. "I was, many many years ago, as an acrobat."

Kurt jumped and flipped backwards, landing on the wing of the jet behind them. He stood with his arms wide and a bright smile.

"Can... Can you do me?" he asked as he effortlessly hops back down.

She beamed a little more, hands itching to applaud; instead, she settled for a little bounce back on her heels. She had never been to see a circus before, though the students Charles had picked up were pretty close at times.

And then he was requesting she shift into him, and Raven nodded slowly, giving him an intent once-over before shutting her eyes briefly, letting it roll over her. It wasn't that hard to change her skin into his; the hard part was the tail, but with enough concentration, it was an almost effortless shift, so far as she could tell. "Am I close?"

He watched in fascination as her skin rippled to make the slight adjustments to texture and hue, her red hair washing short and to the dark blue that was his hair. The smile on his face grew in wonder and amazement.

"Das ist erstaunlich, mein Fräulein," Kurt said with an appreciative clap. "Yes, exactly close. It's very good! I've never-- well, obviously," he stopped himself with an awkward chuckle. There wasn't going to be a single other mutant like Raven, Kurt knew that much.

"Never seen anything like this before?" She asked, her smile pulling impossibly wide. Maybe it wasn't so bad that she'd found this guy, obviously a little bit lost, but definitely not a threat. Not unless he was just ridiculously good at hiding it.

But Raven liked to think that even without masses of worldly experience, she could tell if someone was a danger, and Kurt definitely didn't seem like it.

"Who should I do next?"

"Yes, exactly," Kurt chortled, rubbing the back of his head. The Incredible Nightcrawler could be incredibly dangerous when he needed to be, but generally, he was a very easy going kind of guy. Besides, there wasn't anyone in Professor X's school that Kurt would ever want to harm.

"Uh, I do not know how many people we know in common. Do you ever.. watch TV?" Because if they could find a media that they both knew..

In all likelihood, they could all be pretty dangerous. She would have been surprised if there was someone who couldn't be. That was part of what the school was for anyway, she was sure - making sure that potentially dangerous individuals are trained to the point that they can control themselves.

"Yeah, sometimes. I like to check out the Ed Sullivan show every now and then to see who's performing," she replied cheerfully, oblivious to the fact that Kurt was from any time but her own. "What about you?"

His face lit with an excited smile. "I watch a lot of Johnny Carson and reruns of Dick Van Dyke Show. Can you do him?"

Kurt found Dick Van Dyke funny with his gangly limbs and broad smiles.

She thought about it for a moment, then grinned back before letting the shift wash over her again. Though she hadn't been watching much television lately, it wasn't like Dick Van Dyke wasn't an easy enough face to remember. And then, just on principle, she did a little dance move of his, beaming all the while.

Kurt grinned and clapped again, tail curling in a vague S shape in the air.

"Brava!" The dance move had sold it. "I'm afraid I don't watch much more then that. Thank you or showing me." He wasn't going to ask for any more tricks.

Loving the way his tail moved, almost like a cat's, Raven grinned again before letting the shift dissolve, leaving her back in her natural blue state.

"You're welcome," she told him, genuinely appreciative, "Thanks for wanting me to show you. Most of the time, I just kind of keep it to myself until it becomes useful."
