"Seriously?" She asked, a touch of a laugh on her lips, her eyebrows lifting a little. Hardly the expected response, even from someone who all but appeared out of nowhere and practically screams mutant!! to her. There was something off about him, something beyond just average mundanity. She was impressed, just a little.
"Well, thanks," Raven responded in regards to the off-hand compliment he'd managed before a smirk curved her lips a little bit more. "I don't think I've ever had my face described quite like that before. Why do you think it does that?"
Mutant and proud, sure, but that didn't mean she was going to announce it in front of everyone. Not unless he did first. You show me yours, I'll show you mine.
"Yes." It wasn't like he tried to hide his mutant status. Oddly enough, it took more energy to act normal than it did to zip around all the time. He honestly gave no fucks about keeping it a secret, never cared when people did double takes at his sudden appearances and blinked in confusion at his just as sudden disappearances.
He looked at her for a second, a frown creasing his brow. "It's a nice face," he assured, like maybe he was a little worried that he might've offended her. His social skills might have been a bit stunted, perhaps. "It's like..." More frowning, some squinting. "Like mesh. Like there's something behind it but I can't see through all the little holes."
For a moment, there was only a faintly awed expression, something curious and interested, before he asked, "What's behind your face? Is it another face? A different face? Is it something else?"
With an ability like his, she would find it hard to believe if anyone took him seriously anyway. Well. Maybe she was taking his personality into consideration as well, just a little bit. Maybe she hadn't been talking to him long, but she found it hard to believe if he had a lot of friends. He was pretty brusque.
But hey, at least he was aware of it.
A little smile tugged at her mouth and her eyebrows lifted a little at him. "Thanks," Raven reiterated, a bit more open now. She watched him intently, curious about what he was thinking and wishing for not the first time that she had telepathy so she could find out.
"A face under a face? That sounds pretty creepy, actually. Like I've stolen someone else's skin so I could wear it around like a mask," she pointed out.
