Alex laughed. "Yeah I don't think the Professor would like it if I took out a few trees along the drive. Though it is tempting."
He nodded. "Mostly them. I won't say I'm good though." He shrugged a little at her question though and glanced at her. "You do know where they picked me up right? I prefered solitary, and if I was moved to gen pop I'd make sure not to stay there long. It was fight or kill. And I really didn't like that option." He wasn't looking at her when he spoke. "I think he might have a problem if I taught you more than basics, he does seem more protective of you." It was obvious, but Alex was thinking of trying to keep them safe.
"You could ask him. See if there's anything he wants taken out," she suggested, still liking the mental image. After all, Alex couldn't just keep himself holed up in a bomb shelter forever; sooner or later, he'd have to come out and get some practical experience. In landscaping, obviously. Earn his keep, and all that. Either that, or he could make everyone breakfast.
"You're pretty good," she conceded. "And I might have heard a rumour or two." More than a few. Given how few of them there were, the stories of how everyone was found made it around pretty quickly, no matter what Charles did to try and stop it.
Her eyes remained on him even while he didn't look at her, almost as though she was trying to get inside his head a little. She couldn't help but wonder what he thought of all this: if he liked it just because he didn't have to hide away in solitary, or if he actually agreed with what they were trying to do. "Of course he's protective. I'm his sister," Raven replied, her tone only holding a tone of wryness at that fact. "We'll start with the basics. And if I like it, we'll move up from there."
"If I didn't know better I'd think you wanted me to destroy something," He did laugh a little at that though. "We'll both ask him later then alright?" And Alex had no problem cooking, it was fun for him, not that he'd willingly admit, but no on seemed to complain when he cooked so far.
"It's not something I'm too proud of." He did give her a small smirk though.
"Sounds good, but lets get off the trail," He nodded to a sunny spot in the grass about five feet from the trail they were on. If she had asked him in that moment, he would have said he was enjoying it for both reasons. Because he was helping others like him and wasn't feeling like he should be a caged animal. Something he hoped the others would never feel.
Her smile grew a touch wicked, answering that question well enough as far as she was concerned. What good were abilities like his if you didn't destroy things every now and then? "Sure," Raven answered lightly, already starting towards the spot he indicated. Better to get out of the way in case people decided to go running as well. They could probably get bowled over by Hank, if they weren't paying enough attention.
He got a sympathetic glance as she passed near him, eyes lingering for a moment or two. Rumours did nothing to actually tell her about him, not beyond what she already knew; it wasn't quite enough. But they had the whole afternoon ahead of them, and even if she was in a different mindset than everyone else at the school, it couldn't hurt.
